Thank you Tripoli
We’re stunned and greatly honoured that the Tripoli
International Film Festival has awarded ‘Shakespeare Must Die’ with both Best
Picture and the NETPAC Best Asian Film prizes.
Since ‘Shakespeare Must Die’ is
still banned by the Thai government, this is a wonderful boost to our morale,
giving us great encouragement in our continuing fight to free our film and
change the film censorship law in Thailand.
It is especially moving to receive
such recognition from Tripoli and deepens our empathy given the turmoil in our
countries.
A huge thank you to the jury and the audience, with special thanks
to Jocelyne Saab and Philip Cheah, who invited the film to Tripoli.
